Can Dr. tell....
if you are going to go into labor soon or deliver before or after due date during the last month of pregnancy???

They can give you their assumptions, BUT it's never definite. With DC#1, I went for my 37 week check-up, had gotten my Group B Strep results and had no progress, no dilation really (only a fingertip), nothing. a few days later, he was BORN!
With DC#2, they told me I was so ready to go, the head was so low, 2 cm dilate 85% effaced, I would go earlier def. She was 4 days past due! lol
It's a crapshoot! The baby will come when he/she is ready.

My friend was told she was going to have the baby early, by 38 weeks. She is 1.5 weeks late now. I don't think it is any more than an educated guess.
