spinoff to PCOS/Weight...
What do you eat? Hopefully this won't be moved as I think a lot of the PCOSers are on this site (unfortunately!)
When I was diagnosed w/ PCOS I saw a nutritionist who specialized in PCOS. She had me all nutty eating only good things on the glycemic index. I came to the realization that that wouldn't work for me... and instead started eating less white, processed carbs and more whole grain carbs (though limiting my carb intake more). I also became more conscious of what I was putting into my body. I have been thinking about this a lot lately, especially during my IUI in Dec... and DH and I eat out way too much. More for convenience than anything- but it's so unhealthy--- even things that I think are healthy probably aren't to the degree that they would be if I made them in my house. So, what's a typical day of meals like for you? TIA!

As I said in my previous post, I'm currently doing weight watchers and basically eat what I want within my points budget for the day. Having said that, I think of my points as money and find that while I'm allowed to have anything I want, I prefer to spend my points on healthy food. Here's a sample of what I might eat in a day: (Breakfast usually stays the same, except for the one day per week I allow myself a buttered bagel)
Breakfast: Bowl of oatmeal with cinnammon sprinkled in.
Mid morning snack: Baby carrots, yogurt or a fiber one bar
Lunch: Turkey on light whole wheat with half a slice of low fat swiss and light mayo, lettuce and sometimes tomato. Or I'll hit up the salad bar at Whole Foods and throw some grilled chicken in.
Dinner: Varies alot, but either chicken, turkey burgers (that I make), weight watcher friendly tacos or burritos. Sometimes I'll just have a Boca Burger and a baked potato, or sweet potato
I don't deprive myself if I really want something. Just the other night we went to a local brewery and I was dying for just a good burger and fries. I also had a couple of jalepeno poppers too! But once in a while, I allow myself to give into that temptation. It's not often though.

I've been following Weight Watchers for five weeks and I've lost 10 lbs. If I lose 6 more lbs, I'll be at my "before" weight of the last time I did WW three years ago. I follow points, but try to eat healthier foods.
I'm on Metformin, so that's affecting what I'm willing and able to eat.
Breakfast: steel cut oatmeal with cinnamon and fruit
11:30 am snack: nuts
1:30 lunch: soup or salad (of course, today I'm having leftover chicken and rice...the soup I made on Sunday night didn't turn out well)
3:30 snack: fruit, carrot sticks, cheese stick or yogurt
5:00 snack: one of the items I didn't have at 3:30
7:00 dinner: I need to plan my dinners in advance, buy the ingredients in advance and plan when I'm going to cook said dinner. I have some old WW cookbooks and have been buying more on e-bay. I've made several good chicken and vegetable dinners. I'm also trying to make one meal per week in the crockpot. I like eggs for dinner, but DH doesn't like that as much as I do. DH insists on having pizza on Friday, so I eat two small slices on Friday night and spend Saturday morning in the bathroom (gotta love Met!).
If you asked me this six weeks ago, my answer would have been oatmeal for breakfast w/dried fruit, lunch bought at work (Subway or Taco Bell, etc.), and dinner out or via take out. DH and I both work very long hours and are overweight.
I read the soulcysters board occasionally, but really can't seem to find one agreed-upon approach that works.
