Why do people think it is OK to ask.........

My MIL asked this the other day (meanwhile we are just recently all back on speaking terms, so it's not like we are close in anyway), one of my secretaries, a receptionist my Dr. office (granted I go there weekly....but COME ONChat Icon )............and several other people.

My mom, , my sisters, my grandma.....they wanna know, I'll tell.......but why is everyone else all questions about it?Chat Icon

I have found that only people who are big into breast feeding ask me that question. Then when I say I am on the fence, they start with their schpiel and tell me what a disservice to my child I would be doing if i dont. Thank you, but stay out of my bra.

I wish I knew. I've had several people I don't even know if I was going to bottle or breast feed. It's a personal choice.

yeah, the second they know a woman is pregnant, they think it's fine to dig deep into her business... they ask nosy questions, and give unsolicited 'advice' and 'observations'.

It's like all of a woman's right to privacy is removed... just becuase she's sharing her blood supply with another person for a while....

Well said. This is one of my least favorite parts about being pregnant. I feel like all of my personal information is up for grabs.

Re: Why do people think it is OK to ask.........

I wish I could answer you man, but people automatically feel like it is perfectly acceptable to ask if you are BFing, if you were trying to conceive, if you want surgery or vag, how much weight you have gained, etc. They also feel like it is juuuuust fine to provide you with their unsolicited opinion on your figure no matter what stage in your pregnancy you have reached. My point = your pregnancy makes other people go stupid.

I saw that... I thought that was so rude of him to ask her that!!! Chat Icon It would be bad if he asked her that off camera because it's personal, but even worse that he asked her on national television and caught her off guard.
