Another wedding question
When DH & I were planning our wedding we had the choice of 2 days. 1 happened to be his ex's birthday. We passed on that and choose the 2nd date available.
Well, I just found out my ex (we weren't married but dated for 8 yrs) is getting married on my birthday.
Would you get married on an ex's birthday?

for me it wouldnt really phase me. i've been with DH so long that i dont remember anything about any of my ex's that would ever remind me of them.

i wouldn't choose to get married on my ex's birthday, but it wouldn't phase me if an ex got married on my birthday.

Oh don't get me wrong, it doesn't phase me at all that he's getting married on my birthday.
I just meant in general, would you get married on an ex's birthday.
And not just for the bride. DH said right way, he didn't want the 1st date, b/c it was his ex's birthday. I would never have know it was her birthday if he didn't mention it. He didn't like the idea.

My ex's b-days were the furthest thing from my mind when picking out a wedding date. Then again, I'm not one for remembering birthdays. And I could have gotten married on my DH's ex-wife's b-day. I never bothered to ask, but something tells me he wouldn't be able to recall her b-day anyway.

If it was a serious, long-term ex so whenever I think of that calendar date, I associate it with the ex's birthday, then no, I wouldn't want to get married on that day because of the negative connotation. Who wants their anniversary to be tainted by the memory of an ex?
But if I regarded it like any other day, didn't think about the ex, then I'd go ahead and get married then.

Me: I would not pick that day particularly but if it was the only day that worked then I would pick it.
