Who is using a midwife?

Can you tell me if you are using a midwife, in Nassau? Can you also tell me if what insurance you have? And also, if you plan on having a home birth or if your midwife will deliver with you at a hospital?

I know, a lot of questions, but I am currently researching my birth option!

I was using Susan Brockman from Gaia Midwives before I miscarried. I plan to use her again. (Dale Cook) is her partner. Susan is in Baldwin and she delivers in the waterbirth room at NUMC. But you don't have to have a waterbirth in there. I was planning on using the tub for laboring and delivering out of the tub. But anyway. She is WONDERFUL and soo soo sweet.

You can call the 800 number and leave a message they will call you back in about 2 days or less. After that you get her direct number. They will have an information type appointment to make sure you like them and whatnot. I highly recommend them!

if u are in nassau and want to deliver at winthrop- i know a midwife that comes highly rec- melanie sumersville, ad she works out of garden city obstetrics.....

I am, but I am in Suffolk COunty. I am having a hospital birth but the plan is to go through as much labor at home as possible before going to the hospital.

I'm using a midwife - same one that delivered Ella. She works out of Garden City Obstetrics, and delivers at Winthrop. Summer mentioned her above - Melanie Summersille.
