Do you get any of your neighbors gifts?
Just wondering if anyone gets their neighbors gifts?
So far we have gotten 2 holiday cards from neighbors we have not met. We got Donuts and a card to welcome us to the neighbor hood from one neighbor, and chocolate and wine from another neighbor to welcome us to the block.
I want to get a bottle of wine for my neighbor on the left - it is actually the real estate agent that sold us the house, and my neighbor on the right - They are really nice...and loaned us tools and stuff during the renovation. Her husband also helped out installing the sliding doors.
Do you think a bottle of wine is enough?

I usually give them some of the cookies I bake for my family and a nice card.
I personally don't like to give wine to people I don't know. Coming from a family with quite a few alcoholics as well as several family members who can't drink for medical reasons, I'd hate to take the time to thank someone with a gift that they can't use. JMO.

We give holiday cards to a few of the neighbors around us, but that is it. I don't think gifts are necessary. Our one neighbor nextdoor gave us a plant when we moved in and has lent us tools. We invited her over, but didn't give her a gift. To me she was being neighborly and we were to when we invited her over after we redid the house.

We got a card from the neighbors across the street last year, and we had given them a card and a plate of cookies (we both moved in around the same time - fall last year.) This year we'll probably just give them a card again. No one else really.
I think a bottle of wine is really nice. I doubt that they would expect anything so I think it would be a wonderful surprise for them. You got lucky to have such nice neighbors!

I think a bottle of wine would be just fine. I know DH and I always stress what to give aunts/uncles, random friends, work people, etc... So this year we just bought a case of wine and give them out as we go along. If we happen to run out, we'll just buy another case.
