I cant believe they went on strike!
So I am sitting here, with no way to get to work...and dont even know what to do since we never prepared for some kind of constigincy plan.. AND its like 20 degrees outside! 
I think this will be my first day off, hoping that this doesnt last cause this strike is ridiculous!!!

I am in Williamsburg... today I am staying at home but if there is no change tomorrow I will have no choice but to walk... ohhh welll, it is never boring in NYC lol

Im In Queens, no way to get anywhere w/o a bus at least to get me to the LIRR or something..totally insane and im not walking over any bridge to get into the city, it is 20 degrees outside! Praying this doesnt last more then today,

dont even worry about it michi...i know its a new job n all but if you cant get in, then u cant get in..i wouldnt walk either, too freakin cold.

I know - I can't believe they went on strike. I woke up at about 4:15 and had the news on - and was in shock.
Luckily I was going into work late today so now I'm just going to work from home. But tomorrow I was supposed to drive in because I have to go pick up my new puppy at the airport and I don't know what to do now.
I was just watching the news and the traffic is ridiculous in the city. There isn't a single car moving for blocks!

thanks babe! Im not overly worried cause w e rslow for the holidays overall but I hate taking off--yet I hate walking to manahattan more lol

it was funny, everyone here from queens and brooklyn made it in--everyone found a way
they either hitched rides, walked across the bridge or carpooled
the company appreciated the effort and dedication and is buying us lunch today

Driving in from Levittown to the Manhattan side of the 59th street bridge = Two Hours.
Left 10:30am... arrived 12:30pm.
Could have been worse I suppose. The ride home will be a real b*tch.

Rich had it bad this morning too. He only commutes to the Queens border (from Suffolk), but he got stuck in all the city traffic.

Same here, everyone in my family from Brooklyn, Queens and LI including my BIL with the revserse commute from the upper east side to Brooklyn made it to work. In fact he bumped into his cousin coming from Brooklyn halfway across bridge LOL
My other BIL was on vacation today and still went in! 
That was nice of your company to recognize the effort...
