painful bump after blood draw???
Someone please tell me this is normal, I had blood taken today, and they had to do it from my hand and now I have a painful bump at the site. I am freaking out. I can't call the lab because they closed at 4.

ice it. it happens sometimes when a vein is bruised..it's common. if it doesn't get better, call the lab

you probably have a hematoma. sometimes if you don't hold pressure on the site long enough blood seeps out and that's what causes the painful bump. give it w afew days and it should go away on it's own

Agreed. The hand tends to hurt more because there is less fatty tissue, so it's close to the surface. You will likely have a bruise soon also. It will heal.
