Spinoff - Suitcase for the hospital

Okay - I started making a pile of the stuff I need to take. How big is your suitcase? Really.....DH was making fun of me last night. I don't want to look silly walking in with my suitcase....but heck my robe looks like it will take so much space. Chat Icon Chat Icon
I edited to add that I am havinga c-section - 4 nights in the hospital.

Re: Spinoff - Suitcase for the hospital

Don't feel bad, I took a suitcase too. It wasn't completely full but I had too much stuff for an overnight bag. The extra space came in handy when it came to packing up all the diapers and wipes the hospital sent us home with.

Re: Spinoff - Suitcase for the hospital

i'm bringing this MASSIVE duffel bag and its jam packed, so don't feel about about the suitcase! We probably won't need half of it, but it helps to know its there just in case!

Re: Spinoff - Suitcase for the hospital

I brought as small duffel, I had a section as well.

The first day (I had my son at 10am) you dont need anything. You go from the clothes you came in with to the gown and then after your section you are basically confined to the bed until the next AM.

The second and third days, you need your toiletries, slippers, & a change of clothes (the second day I just wore a nightgown and thin robe the whole day - third day I actually wore clothes)
Fourth day (this was my last, many stay one more day though) I just need a change of clothes for myself and for the baby.

Re: Spinoff - Suitcase for the hospital

I have a duffle bag with all my post stuff and a small bag for L&D, which I will then use to take home stuff I get from the hospital.

Re: Spinoff - Suitcase for the hospital

I have a large duffel bag, though I may split it into a small bag for L&D and the large bag with room...

Re: Spinoff - Suitcase for the hospital

I used a wheeled carry-on (I guess it's technically a small suitcase, but it fits as a carry on, does that make sense Chat Icon ) I didn't even need it at all during labor, and it was easy to store in the closet in my recovery room & to access as needed. Plus it saved my DH from lugging it, since it had wheels.

Re: Spinoff - Suitcase for the hospital

When I had my DS I brought a small suitcase. Looking back I brought way too much stuff. This time I think I'll just bring a pair of pj's and a toothbrush! Chat Icon No really, probably some kind of duffel bag this time.

I have a suitcase also and a duffel bag. In the bag is just my toiletries and the video camera, regular camera, etc. I'm getting a csection also I think so I packed 3-4 days worth of clothes, a change of clothes for hubby for that first long day, bathrobe, slippers, etc. I didn't think it would be so much or take up so much room!!!
