just need reassurance.....

nervous first trimester girl here....

I'm a few days over 8 weeks now.....

While I was 2-5 weeks, I had mild cramping, lots of boob pain....
Then that began to subside, but was quickly replaced by a bionic sense of smell and serious food aversions at 6 weeks. By the end of the week, the aversions went away... no m/s (but my mom didn't have it either, so it's not surprising). 3-4 days after those symptoms cleared, I had my ultrasound at 7 weeks, and everything is fine. My only 'symptom' during the 7th week was insomnia.... but that cleared up several days ago!

sooooo..... I've been waiting for some other sensation.... NADA! The only things remaining are enlarged boobs and a slight aversion to really potent spicy / stinky foods.... (ex.... curries, lots of garlic)....

Is it normal to feel 'not pregnant' during the first trimester, or should I be concerned?

Consider yourself lucky!! I think there are many many people who don't have symptoms and are perfectly fine. I am preg. with twins and other then being tired now and then, I feel pretty good! I'm sure everything is fine, espcially since you were able to see the baby last weekChat Icon

Re: just need reassurance.....

I could have written this post myself! I had the same things happen to me. "symptoms" came and went. Everyday was something new. It has been so hard to guage what will make me sick, how I will feel, and how to take care of myself. But, about 3 weeks ago (9 weeks) I came the the understanding that everything is fine. At 9 weeks I started feeling nothing but tired and sore boobs. I am not sick anymore, I can eat pretty much anything now (I had the worst food aversions), and I am sleeping "fairly" well (could be better). I went for my drs appointment on Friday and DH and I heard the heartbeat. Everything is fine!

Take it as a blessing! If you feel basically nothing, then don't worry about anything. The more you worry, the more your baby will be affected. Stay calm and enjoy your healthy pregnancy!!! Chat Icon

Re: just need reassurance.....

thanks... I really need to hear that....

I consider myself very lucky to not have m/s..... but it is rather unnerving to feel not pregnant Chat Icon I'm almost 36, and I had a brief incident of red spotting several weeks ago... so it has made me rather nervous Chat Icon

I was nervous at the time also. but now looking back I realize what a great pregnancy I've had. I didn't really get excited or feel I was pregnant until after my 12 week sono. When is your next sono?

I am a couple days over 8 weeks too! My sore boobies come and go, they are not sore now at all. I do have really bad MS though. Some days I have cramping and other days , nada! don't worry, symptoms seem to change each day.

I'm seeing the Dr. on 3/11, but I think my next sono is the ultrascreen on 3/13.... it's a while to go....

Re: just need reassurance.....

I didn't really have any "symptoms" until my m/s kicked in around 7 weeks or so....and that was really the only thing. Every pregnancy is different--No worries!Chat Icon

I didn't have any symptoms and didn't feel pregnant until around 16-18 weeks.
