packing for the hospital
I am such an overpacker- I feel lik eI'm out of control. But my husband is one of those who know where nothing is kept in our house. So even though I could TECHNICALLY forget something, and he could go home to get it, I would have to draw him a map to find it. I prefer not.
I have this huge duffel bag and it's almost full.
I bought this nightgown at Target- it has buttons.
But I only bought one, because I prefer pants.
I have packed 3 pair of pants 1 robe 2 nursing tank tops 2 comfy tops 1 button up nightgown 1 regular nightshirt 6 pair of cheapy granny panties towel slipper things- with the skid proof bottoms 3 pair of socks socks, boxers, and tee shirt for DH Video camera Digital camera Extra batteries for my digital camera 38 pack of Always overnight pads toiletries (shampoo, face wash, toothbrushes, razor, etc) headbands- to keep hair out of my face snacks for DH (vitamin water, starburst, cheese nips, and mallomars)
I'm buying a cheapy boom box for L&D.
I need to pack Max Power's adorable coming home outfit- after I wash it. Oh and a blanket for him, too, right?
What am I missing?

Re: packing for the hospital
make sure to pack a compass for dh, in case you have to send him home to pick something up for you.
you're list sounds great, only thing I would add after being in the hospital all week is paper and a pen, I kept coming up with questions to ask the dr or nurse, but would forget them when they came in the room

You're ready to go! I didn't pack a blanket for Moose because I had the bundle me in her carseat, but I did have a sweater and hat for her. I have to go try that sweater on her now...I bet it's too small.

That is a cute gown! I already bought one, but I like that that has buttons!
I think you covered everything!
What about stuff for nursing, like disposible pads?

I have not bought any yet, but I got a sample of ones that have sticky tape to them (like sanitary pads) So I am sure you could just stick them to that. But I am not sure if you can see them through your shirt
Why did you buy nursing tanks if you are not BF long?
I am not bringing my snoogle, I am just bringing 2 pillows. DH can go home for it if I really need it.

Can you explain the olive oil - like regular olive oil that you cook with? Sorry - no birthing class - I am having a c-section and never heard of this.....

i don't know what you have heard about meconium, but it's the baby's first poop and it's like black tar and impossible to get off. they told us to put olive oil on the baby's bum and the meconium will come right off. it's preventative.

i'll be rollin' into L & D with my personal masseuse really, you can put your back against the wall with the balls in between and roll around. i've been doing it now and it feels realllllly good.

That's smarts. I'm going to pack my Octopussy- it's like a handheld ball massager with 8 arms. I bought it at a passion party, but it's totally innocent.

My SIL uses olive oil instead of diaper cream - swears by it. But in the hospital - won't they take care of removing any poop-substance from baby's bum?

Re: packing for the hospital
just a word of advice you packed way too much stuff. you dont need maxipads overnights they supply them at the hospital. also i would pack chapstick. not sure which hospital your delivering at we delivered at huntington and i brought my ipod with speakers and it worked out great. the l &d also had a tv in the room and a phone. dont think you need so many things of pjs. if your not getting a c section your not going tobe there for more than 2 days. i would pack one bag for the first 2 days and if your staying longer have dh bring a second bag.

Re: packing for the hospital
I wore Old Navy yoga pants the whole time. They are fitted and really help keeping the diaper size maxi pad in place!!! I did it for both my boys and I felt so comfortable.
