Can you tell by the heartbeat if it's a boy or girl?
I have a little girl already and love her so much! I would love for her to have a little brother or sister, either way I will be happy!
I was just wondering I had my 8 week sonogram yeserday, the baby's heartbeat was 186.
Is it true a high heartbeat means a girl?
I know with my first her heartbeat was around 160-170.
Did any moms have a high heartbeat on the sonogram and have a boy?

At my 8week sono the hb was 179. I found out yesterday I am having a boy. Throughout this whole pregnancy the hb has been pretty high.
I've heard the hb is actually based of the mother's hb. But I'm not sure how true that is.

That's good to know! I really started thinking girl. Which I would love for her to have a little sister. I know my husband is secretly hoping for a boy! Either way he will be happy! My little girl is Daddy's little girl!
Any other mom's have a high heartbeat on the 1st sonogram and have a boy?

My friend is obsessed with the heartbeat thing. LOL She has 3 boys and is now pg hoping to have a girl. She doens't know yet though. However, she rented a doppler to check the heartbeat rate.
I am having a girl and everytime I go to the dr. my friend asks me to ask what the heartbeat is. Last time it was 127. That's low. I'm having a girl. The baby was sleeping. My dr. said that no study has prooved the heartbeat determining the s*ex.
But it is fun.

interesting - at my 8 week sono the HB was 169. guess you never know!

I had a high heartbeat when I saw my doc last week. He told me the high/low BP in determining or predicting sex was total bull poop.
I suppose ill know in a few weeks. I'll let you know then.

The Dr who presided over my Level II basically laughed at us when we made mention of the HB relating to the gender.

It's probably a myth...but it's fun none the less! I really thought my 1st pregnancy was a boy and she was a girl!! Everyone said I carried like she was a boy! This pregnancy I am starting to think it's a girl..so maybe it will be a boy!!....lol.

They say that higher heartbeats are usually girls, but don't know if there is any scientific fact to back that up.
Although it rang true in my case. We're having a girl and her heartrate was always in the 160's.
