Re: how much do you save?
We save my entire salary, and some of DH's. We have been doing this for years, so I can afford to be a SAHM... but I don't think I am ready to give up all of my hard work on my career or on my masters. I wish I could work flex. hours or p/t, but where I am now I will have to stay f/t. I am planning on going back and taking it one day at a time. Why don't you consider a p/t job so you can still stay home most of the time with the baby but yet have a little $ coming in as a back-up?

Wow, that is SO great that you are all able to do that!! I am jealous. We don't have the option of saving a dime. Eh, someday.

Re: how much do you save?
I think you'll be fine if even as a SAHM you can still save $1000/mo.
Right now, with both our salaries, we only save $500-$1000/mo and then my year-end bonus, which I know we shouldn't rely on, but we do heavily.
There is no way I could be a SAHM!! I really wish I could though.
