A NUN INSULTED ME TONIGHT
sorry, i was just caught completely offgaurd.
i was in the union square market and a NUN came up to me asking me for $$$$ for St. Josephs. i said "sorry, no"
A) because she came totally into my personal space
and
B)i honestly didnt have any money
and instead of saying the usual "god bless you" she instead said, (VERY nastily)
"YEAH YOU LOOK LIKE IT, NICE HAIR, HALLOWEEN IS OVER!!!!"
I swear i was so ataken back! ive never heard a nun talk like this. i couldnt even THINK of a come back i was so in shock . all i said was "oh yeah? and you call yourself a nun?!"
i immediatly called some friends to tell them the story... my mom thinks it was some woman just pretending to be a nun trying to get some $. a total fraud. so does DH.
if not, i hope that nun goes to hell! 
can you believe it?!!?!??!

you should definitely say something. What if u are right and this person is a fraud. thay are scamming people for $. I would hope nuns would never think of talking to any human being like that. Thats awful, sorry u had to experience that.

It was probably someone dressed up to look like a nun but wasn't. You see that all the time at street fairs and markets.

Was this nun from St. Joseph's Church in Greenwich Village? I belonged to that parish and I can tell you that the only nun (1) in that church, is the sweetest person and would never have said anything like that if her life depended on it. Plus she's elderly and would not be standing in the freezing cold. I also don't think they raise money that way. I seriously think it was a fraud.

I bet she was a phony, trying to appeal to people's genorosity during the holidays.
Real nuns do not go around street fairs (or airports, or bus terminals, etc.) asking individual people for cash. If they were looking for donations at this location, I am sure they would set up some sort of booth, with information about where the $ would be going.

Though I agree, I have a feelign it was not a "real nun" .. just a vibe I'm getting from the story
