trimester question
do you count the first day of your second trimester as 13W 0D or 14W 0D?

According to my book "The Pregnancy Countdown Book" the 2nd trimester begins 14w0d.

ok, thanks. it's so confusing b/c the books all say that the trimesters are about 13W each - so when i am 13W1D, wouldn't i be starting my 14th week?
ah well i guess i'm just impatient to be in the second tri already!

It is 14 weeks. If you think about it, gestation is 40 weeks. So 14 weeks x 3 trimesters = 42 weeks. The first 2 weeks of the 42 are the two weeks when the egg is released before insemination.
