Chromosome Results
Hello -
Just got my chromosome results. They were abnormal..so something was wrong with the baby itself..they said it was 69XXX, so an extra chromomsome. Did anyone ever expericne this? In one sense it is a relief that my 4th miscarriage there was actually something wrong and i did not lose a normal proganancy but now of course i am worried that this will happen again..it just doesn't seem fair you know..like all the immune issues were not enough..but i guess that is life..it is not fair sometimes

Re: Chromosome Results
My first miscarriage was the same. Its called triploidy and its an extra set of chromosomes, not just one. I was 13 weeks along when I miscarried.

Re: Chromosome Results
I am so sorry!! Has your dr suggested PGD for future pregnancies? if your miscarriages are caused by genetics, then they could screen your embryos and put back normal ones...

Re: Chromosome Results
I am so sorry for your loss. . I wanted to tell you about my miscarriage in 11/05. My chromosome results were the same.
Here is a FM I had sent someone at the time, of my conversation with my doctor:
She said luckily it was a fluke, but I should take comfort in knowing it was something completely random and shouldn't have to worry about it happening again. It's called Triploidy. She said that during the division process the cell duplicates and divides and at some point during that process there was a glitch and instead of 23 chromosomes and 23 chromosomes = 46, there was an extra set, making it a total of 69 chromosomes. And the baby never would have made it full term so to be thankful in a way that it happened during the first semester. If I went full term, he would have died within a few hours or a few days. I feel better knowing that. She said that it had nothing to do with my husband or myself, that it was totally a fluke of nature and when that happens, the baby does not survive. And, sadly, it was a boy :(. She said that makes her feel really good getting that report, that there was a reason, and not a reason to concern me. She said somewhere in the report it suggested genetic counseling but she sees absolutely no reason to do that because she knows about Triploidy and it is just a fluke. She said she'll research it more, but she was happy to be calling me with that particular scenario.
I hope that helps and again, I am so sorry for your loss.

I pray you find answers to your multiple miscarriages

Re: Chromosome Results
Thanks for all the kind words ladies...
We have had all the chromome results done on myself and my hubby...and everything came back normal. My first d&c the baby came back normal so they think this is just a fluke...apparently this results when 2 sperm go into the egg so i hope that is more of a fluke thing..
we are going to take some time and than we will try again..
best of luck to everyone here!!
