well a dressed up bed has the box spring, mattress, head board, foot board
dressed down is a sleeping bag on the floor.

head and foot board. It's a set given to us from one of DH's coworkers. I call it the greek godess bed - it is white wrought iron with the headboard having a big bowl of fruit in the center flanked on either side with 2 huge birds eating out of the bowl. I cover it up as much as I can.

 I had a full bed with a head & foot board & DH hated it, b/c he was too tall for it. Now we have a Queen bed & box spring on the bed fram, no head board. I'd like to get one in our next apartment.

We just have the frame and box spring. Our room is long and narrow so you realy can't have much in the way of a headboard or foot board or else you have to climb over the bed to get to the other side of the room. I'd love a sleigh bed, but there is just no way that would fit so we keep talking about creating a headboard that would basically be on the wall so it would look dressed up, but w/o taking up the space.

I have a captains bed, so there isn't a head board or foot board. We have a box spring and mattress.

We have a platform bed, so there is no need for a box spring. Our apartment has a lot of moldings and 2 big windows, so there is no place for a headboard without covering the windows, and we are both tall- so no footboard for us.

DH is 6'4" and we have a king sized sleigh bed, and he fits no problem.

we only have it on a frame right now because the bedroom furinture we use was paased down to me from my grandma & her bed was a full size-way too small for us so we have that canopy bed in our guest room & our queen sized is just on the frame. We are planning to make an upholstered headboard one of these days. For now I have lots of pillows I prop up against the wall to make it less noticable

We have a king but no head/foot board. I've looked and haven't found one that I love. SO for now our bed is on a frame....with about 8 pillows...we have a pillow headboard

instead of a box spring we have two matresses. (or maybe we have a box spring too) either way, its HIGH. we have a headboard and footboard. its black iron. and kinda looks like jail!

Queen on a frame...our "headboard" is one of those room divider screens (this one is black laquer/asian) - it lies flat against the wall and actually looks pretty cool.
Eventually I'd like a headboard/footboard - just not sure if I want wood or iron.
