Can I be mean and petty for a minute
I feel guilty even posting this, but I just need to let my feelings out!
When I picked out my bedding I had asked my mom (who is very artistic) to paint some of the scenes from my bedding onto canvases that I could hang in the nursery. She gave them to me last week at my shower and they are not at all what I was expecting.
I wanted her to copy exactly what was on the bedding and instead she took her own artistic license. The bedding is very pastel and what she gave me is more primary colored. What she did is really very cute, but just not what I wanted. I know if I told her that it would hurt her feelings tremendously, so I have to put them up.
But, right now I'm just feeling very sorry for myself and regretting not being more specific about what I wanted.

 I'm sure once they're up, you'll love how they look and coordinate with everything, PLUS you'll love looking at them and knowing your mom made them for her grandchild, and telling your DC that grandma made them.

You are pg and that is your excuse for being ballsy.
Youll never be happy. She is your mother and all she wants is for you to be happy. It was a misunderstanding. She'll know how bad and guilty you feel, but if you don't tell her it will eat atyou.
she is an artist so re-doign them won;t be as big of a deal if she paid to have it done.
what is she goign to do? Hate you? NEVER!!!

I agree.... whenever an artist paints something, it will never be exactly what the other individual envisioned.... but that doesn't mean it isn't beautiful.
it's very touching that grandma painted those....

Thanks girls! I was having a very hormonal afternoon yesterday. I had such a clear idea in my head of what I wanted and they were so different from what I expected the hormones just let loose!
Today I'm feeling better and I decided I'm not going to ask my mom to redo them completely because even though they are not what I pictured they really are cute. I am going to ask her to tone down some of the colors so they will match the room better.
And then when I look at them I will just remind myself how much love went into making them and how lucky my little one is to have my mom for a grandma.

ITA! Why don't you just show her how different the colors look once you put them up, and maybe she will want to redo them!
