Breach Babies
what week do they say they usually need to be in position by? Mine was head down for weeks and last night flipped to head up. I hope he/she has time to move. I have about 5 weeks left.

Re: Breach Babies
I still dont really feel that pregnant. The babies hiccups moved from being at my pubic bone area to up at my belly button this morning. (baby had hiccups for like 1 hour) Plus the kicks were now lower. He or she gets the hiccups like every other day and its always down low.

Re: Breach Babies
Technically you have until you go into labor but obviously sooner is better than later. Has your Dr. spoke to you about exercises to get the baby turned around like the knee-chest position(where your head is lower than your pelvis)?

Re: Breach Babies
i would confirm with the doctor that the baby flipped becuase its very painful when they flip. mine flipped into breech at 32 weeks and i thought i was going into labor becuase it was so painful.

I was in so much pain last night. I was thinking it was as bad as labor. just thought it was my occasional cramping just worse. was going to call midwife today to see if thats normal. I guess it could have been that. (baby moving) I do remember alot of movement last night. I was so tired and could not get comfortable. did yours flit back?

Re: Breach Babies
Yes, your baby may have turned. Mine was breech until @ 25 weeks, and when they turned back into head-down position, I felt really sharp (gas-like) pain for about a day.

Re: Breach Babies
They scheduled my c-section when I was about 8 months to be done at 38 weeks. BUT they did a sono right before we even did the surgery. If the baby would have turned then they would have just canceled my surgery and sent me home they said.

Re: Breach Babies
My baby has been breech during the whole pregnancy and she still is at 32 weeks. My doctor told me that she should start to get into position at 34 weeks, but it is still possible for her to flip after the 34 weeks. If she hasn't flipped by 36 weeks we will start talking about doing a c-section.

Re: Breach Babies
I will be 35 weeks tomorrow and my baby is still in the breech position. I have a sono in few weeks and if it is still in breech, then I will opt for a c section.

Re: Breach Babies
Hi Liz!!!! WOW Only 5 weeks left!!!
Most babies turn in to the head down position at our around 36 weeks, because that is when there is still the most amount of room. by 38 weeks, if the baby is still breech, then you and your doc will start considering a c section more seriously. Here is a link with some interesting informaiton regarding breech positioning.
breech position and breech birth
breech causes later in pregnancy
HTH!

Re: Breach Babies
I think if the baby did not flip by 36-37 weeks than they start to run out of room to flip
