CAR SEATS: Are you registering/getting both the Infant and a Convertible seats now?
I'm a little confused, they say that the baby will out-grow the Infant car seat in about 6 months.
So I'm not sure if I should pick out a convertible seat now, or wait until I really need it.

My SIL has two kids and has been through a ton of car seats. She told me to register for both, so I did.

I registered for both and have gotten the infant seat already. Can't hurt to have both on there and see what you end up getting.

I was only going to register for the convertible seat, but then thought about what a pain it will be to have to constantly move the baby from the car seat to the stroller (especially of the baby is sleeping).
Right now we have only registered for the infant car seat. I am pretty confident that my job will throw me a baby shower and give me nice GC to BRU. I will probably use the GC to get the convertible car seat.

I only registered for the infant seat and my DS is still in it at 9+ months.
Honestly, I think your registry is for things you are going to use when you come home with the baby, not for things you need for a long time. We didn't register for a converitble seat, a high chair or an exersaucer. When we needed them, we bought them.
