breastfeeding classes

For those of you who took it - did you bring DH?

Also - if anyone took it and had their baby already- was it actually helpful?

Thanks!

Re: breastfeeding classes

I found it very helpful! I dont know if I would have even tried to BF after day 1 if I hadn't had the class.

I didnt bring DH I went with my BFF who had her baby a month after me. All other women in our class did bring their DHs.

I went to CFA in smithtown.

Re: breastfeeding classes

I would have loved to attend but had DS before the week the class was being held. DH intended an attending with me - I think it's a great idea if he's willing to go. I will make it much easier and you will definatley (both) understand more.

Re: breastfeeding classes

I went through one thru Good Sam & it was very informative. It truly was beneficial. First it went through the benefits of bf & then it went through the problems you may encounter & how & you even got to try the various hold positions on a doll.

I took DH, but he & one other hubby were there. I think it was impt for him to be there to help support me (b/c its truly NOT easy those first few weeks) & for him to see all that it entails & what a big decision it is. If he's willing, you should take him.

Re: breastfeeding classes

I took one at the hospital. I read so much and did so much research online before the class that I didn't really feel like I learned anything new, but I can see how some people would find it helpful.

I would say about 80% of the dads were at the class I went to.
