question about putting car seat in the car
When you are ready to install you car seat do you put it in the middle or behind a seat different people been telling me different thing. I just want to make sure I will install it right. I don't feel like it should be in the middle SO I am asking you guys.

It really depends on the car. In 1 of our cars it needs to be installed on either side. The middle is slightly raised so it won't sit properly and the saftey latch thingies are on the side seats...not middle.

Yup, especially since we'll have 2 car seats. they will go on either side (wich is the safest for 2 car seats). With one, I always had it in the middle (well 90% of the time).

well the middle is supposedly safest. But DS carseat is behind the passenger seat. That is the way that it had to be installed b/c the middle part had a arm rest that pulled down and that is a safety hazard.

The middle is the best, but it is also the hardest spot to get baby in and out of.
As long as you have latch in the middle, you should use the middle seat.

It's only safest in the middle if it can be installed properly there. In my car the best fit was on the side so that's where we put it. You should also check your car's manual to see if you can use LATCH to install in the middle. A lot of cars only allow you to use the LATCH connectors on the sides so if you want to put it in the middle you'd have to use the seatbelt.

We had it installed by the national highway safety people who come to the precinct once a month for child seat installation and the guy installed it in back of the passenger seat.
