please help...stupid question...
I just bought stainless steel pots...(all clad)....I can make mashed potatoes in them right? I mean, I can use a beater in a stainless steel pot? it won't scratch it?

yes - it should be fine
you shouldn't use a beater if there is a non-stick coating

yes, I beat the crap out of my all clad pots. They are the kind of pots that you pass down to other generations.

ok thank you soo much..I just needed a double check! I'm having my boyfriend's parents over for dinner tomorrow...and the pots are new...this is the first time they'll be at the apartment, we moved in together in September...so I just want everything to be perfect! The last thing I want to do is ruin new pots, or serve them mashed potatoes with metal in them, lol! Anyway, thanks!!!
