Tornado
A tornado just barreled through Sag Harbor East Hamtpon and maybe Montauk. Trees are down all over and windows blew out of O'Murphy's Pub in Montauk  It's scary out here!

It was raining then the winds picked up really badly and it turned to snow. The snow was whipping around in circles. Very freaky! The schools all put the kids in the middle of the class rooms. The police are going crazy. Normally they have nothing to do out here

I am in East Hampton. You could tell there was somethihg different about the winds. The doors to my lobby blew open a few times. It just happened, there are no news reports. There is no need to alarm anyone. It's not like a Kansas tornado. There are no injuries just a lot of trees down and windows broken. The schools called all the parents.

There are some trees down, some transformer fires and wires down, and there are alot of homes with alarms going off which mean the Fire Department is a little busy, they have to respond to every alarm! It was definitely windy!!

I hate when I'm in Connecticut and can still pick them up. It's so embarrassing that others can hear them too!!
Do you remember us having a tornado years ago in Bridgehampton? I remember coming home from Burborn Street right after one went down Main Street, taking off the tops of all of the trees.

This is what I have founded regarding the wind.
Statement as of 12:51 PM EST on December 09, 2005
Expires 4:00 PM EST on December 09, 2005
... Wind Advisory in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon...
The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon.
Strong winds of 30 to 35 mph with gusts 50 to 55 mph are expected through
late this afternoon.
A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
