Same here! I made sure a couple of months ago that my mom & I were on the same page b/c I didn't want to hurt her feelings if she had a different idea than I did, but it would be way too weird for me to have ANYONE other than DH and a medical staff there.

I figured my mom and DH but he seemed  at the idea of my mom in there.

this is exactly my situation. DH does not want my mom there, but I feel like I might need her. DH is wonderful and a major support for me but he gets a little freaked out with gorey stuff and I am afraid he will get too overwhelmed. I also think my mom sort of assumes it, and I know she will feel hurt if I tell her no.

DH has already been instructed that he will look no further south than my head. i don't even want to see what's going on down there!

I had the weirdest delievery room ever and I am VERY glad I had all the people I did since I was scared out my head and the support was wonderful.
I had DH, who was my coach, my mom and SIL were at the foot of my bed, my SIL was holding her 2 month old DD, and my best friend was over to the side, wearing goggles since she just had Lazik surgery that day. A very strange group- all the nurses kept stopping by my room and whispering about us.
Oh, my sister would have been there if she didn't have to leave to go to a business conference.
I know, I am a strange person.

For the birth of our DS we decided it be just the two of us. (obviously drs. and nurses too  )
But, for the birth of our second child, we invited my mother!

DH - it was the two of this who created our little one we will be just the two of us to welcome   into the world.
My mom and I are very close but I think this is something special to be shared with just my dh. I don't think mom would be very comfortable in there

I had an emergency c-section with DD#1, it was so urgent they put me to sleep and DH missed it while he was putting on the scrubs When he walked in she was already out and my insides were on the table(sorry TMI)
We did not know the sex, and I am still sad that we missed our "Its a Girl" moment.
This time I am having a scheduled c-section and DH will be there.
I would have loved for my mom to be there BTW.

With my first I had DH in the room with me and then my mom came in for about 30 minutes once they gave me the epidural so that DH could go get a drink and sit down for a couple of minutes. She couldn't see anything and nothing was going on. I was just lying down at that point waiting around.
I am planning on doing the same this time around.

right now DH ~ not sure how many people can come in but if i am aloud two more than my mom and mil... as long as they stay far away from the coochy coochy area!

BM's cousin asked her DH if he was going to watch and his response was:

DH---at the head of the bed only--I am married to a fainter (although I must say he has come a looong way since we first met!!)---I asked him last night if he wanted to cut the cord and the look on his face was one of 'are you kidding, i will totally be on the floor'

I would insist on DH being there so that he can see my pain first hand. It will be easier to always hold it over his head that way.
