How do you feel about hunting?
The post about perdue chicken set this thought off in my head for some reason.
I don't have a problem with hunting if it was for the pure food aspect of it. The problem I have is that the majority of hunters see it as a sport. They get pleasure out of stalking and killing an animal. Eating it later (if they do) is just a bonus.

OMG I love Dottie.
I am IO to hunting, becaus emost people think it's a fun sport. I get that there's an over population, but that still doesn't seem right. And over population? According to who, humans? Why do we get to keep populations down? It all seems so sinister. there are plenty of animals being born and bred just for our eating pleasure, I don't see the need to go hunt your own.
I think that getting off on taking ANYTHINGs life is sinister.

when I became an "marksman" shooter in bow and arrow (at about age 11 LOL) I was given a pocket knife with a deer on it.
I was perplexed (up until this point, I was shooting bullseyes and balloons) firstly about the knife, and secondly, about the deer.
I was told it was for when I kill my first deer with my arrow...that I have to go and slit it's neck with the knife.
I pretty much stopped archery after that.
my brother hunts deer. I am starting to wish he would start eating just that and forget buying all these processed meats at the store...especially since his wife is preggo!
I don't really like hunting, but I am starting to think we'd be better off being our own hunter-gatherers again.
Our govt's love of special interests and big business is literally causing the death of us.
