i just cracked an egg to cook it and it looks like blood in the yolk!

omg its so funny cause my mom thinks thats like an omen or something---might be a puerto rican thing--but i forget what its supposed to mean when that happens.

ok, first a question Did you buy the eggs from a chicken farmer or a food store? If the answer is the latter than is IS NOT A PARTIALLY DEVELOPED EMBRYO. Chickens raised for eggs in this country never even see a rooster (all the roosters are killed when they are babies because they are useless)much less have sex with one. The eggs we eat in this country are infertile. Blood spots are a safe anomoly of the ovulation of a hen. Here's an article that explains the whole deal.Blood spots are safe

I don't eat eggs with blood spots, but that's b/c that makes them unkosher (although the original reasons for this no longer exist).
