Another pediatrician question
I've never interviewed a doctor...how do you go about it...
You go in, ask questions and then tell them that you have other interviews set up?

Re: Another pediatrician question
When I went in, he assumed all the q's b4 I even had to ask. DH & I decided right there we were going to use them, but he said whomever you decide on you just have to list at the hospital when you are checked in (b/c they'll visit w/ your child on their rounds) if they are affiliated w/ the same hospital.

Re: Another pediatrician question
Yes. I felt that most doctors I met with were familiar with the interview process and welcomed it. They pretty much walked me through the interview, pointing out the things they thought were helpful to know about the practice.

Re: Another pediatrician question
They are pretty used to meeting expectant parents....I asked about how the office runs/appts/sick visits, weekend coverage etc. Im planning on BF, so we talked a bit about that---it was more of a conversation than an interview---I just wanted to get an idea of how he & the office worked and see if i felt comfortable talking to him. For the one we picked, I didn't give any sort of "commitment" bc i wanted to speak to my DH first, but when I sent in my preregistration papers to the hospital I listed him as the ped and they will call him when the baby is born. HTH!
