strange police experince i need your opinions
O.k so last night i was in my way to school thinking about the test i had to take once i got there.When i noticed a cop car ahead of me but in another lane.
So i noted my speed and was doing 5 miles under the limit.Then i went back to thinking about my test. I am now almost neck and neck with the patrol car (no biggee since i'm not doing anything wrong) but out of nowhere the officer takes an his interior hand held spot light and flashes it in my face Now i am freaking out,and my stomach starts to hurt .I immediately think that's it i'm getting pulled over for somthing. So i wait as he now gets behind my car for his lights to start flashing. But it never happens. Instead he follows me for a while and as we aproach a red light he gets next to my vehicle in the left lane and again turns his spot light on me and flashes me in the face. Now i can not see and am scared s*******. He then turns and disapears. Now i feel like i am about to vomit and i am a bit frightened since there was no explanation for the officer's behavior. I called my husband once i got to school and he told me to call the 4Th precinct and see if i could help them with anything. The person who answered the phone was very curt and of no help. So now i am afraid to go to school that way.Am i completely mad or would any of you feel a little weirded out too?????????

I would think he may have thought you were drinking or something b/c usually you try to overcompensate/go especially slow, etc. to avoid being pulled over. He probably first shined the light but couldn't see you well enough so then he followed you to see how you were driving (were you weaving side to side, etc.) & then he went on the driver side to check you out.
It would still freak me out but I think it was not done to scare/freak you.

My husband is teasing me about the whole incident now and just asked me if I had any run ins with the law today so suportive..
As for weaving I dont think that I was, I was not even in his lane. I could understand if I was lane hopping and a lead foot.
Oh well if I end up in the klinker tonight I'll be back with a new story :

they may have been looking for someone with a car that looks similar to yours. That is the only explaination that would make sense.

I agree, this was the only thing that I could think of. I would also be a little freaked out b/c it seems like it was kind of strange and random in a sense

that is freaky but i dont think you should worry about it. Either he was just being a jerk or like the PP said they were looking for someone with a similar car.

your car might have matched someone they were looking for, but the person they were expecting could have been male, or of another race, and before they pulled you over they wanted to make sure.. also pulling behind you probally meant he was running your plate.. no worries

Several reasons
- you were driving slower than speed limit
- the type of car you were driving
- if you have tinted windows
- looking a car like yours/someone else
