Is this wrong or is it just me?

My doc told me that I had to redo my Fragile X blood test a while back b/c the lab made some error or they didn't have enough specimen to work with. So I had the test redone.

Well, I get a bill from the lab (not the doc) for the redo. Granted it wasn't for much money - less than $20. Honestly though, I feel like by paying it I'm encouraging them to screw up. Shouldn't the second go around be on them if there was something done incorrectly? There wasn't anything I could have done - not like I took my own blood and tested it wrong. I'm just curious what other's think.

I'm going to ask my doctor tomorrow what he thinks and if I should fight it. Again it's not that much money, but it's the principle. Plus they did get something from my insurance company both times. I can't imagine making money, even just a little here and there, on mistakes.

Check your insurance, maybe you have a copay on lab work.

If that isn't the case, and you don't have a copay, I would call the lab and fight it.

Brian just had labwork done with Quest Laboratories... I think they are nationwide - anyway....

They messed up the first time that they drew blood, and forgot to run a test.

I called them up after he got a call from them telling him that he had to have blood redrawn, and I was like... He's NOT paying for this right????????

They consumed the cost of the new blood draw quickly.
