*** Forced to move out .... Furniture for sale
My husband and I just moved out of our parents house into our first apartment in AUgust. Thinking we would be here for a long time we bought quality furniture that we would take with us to our first home. However, last night our landlord told us her daughter needs to move back home and we have to move out, obviously.
In august, we bought
A beautiful leather L Shaped couch from Lazyboy, with recliners, the whole 9 for 3,000. We would sell it for 2,000 even though it would break my husbands heart.
Also, we bought a cape cod dining set from fortunoffs for 1,500 and would sell that for 1,000.
We have a futon that is actually comfortable because the mattress is high quality - we spent 500 and would sell for 300.
Armoire, dresser, and bed from IKEA that we would sell as well.
If you are wondering ... we are not quite ready to buy a home so we have to move back to his parents house.
Im so sad but hopefully I can allow someone else to purchase my beautiful furniture at a discount ... everything was bought in august . FM me for details, pics, etc.
Best

I am so sorry you have to go through this. Have you considered putting your furniture in storage?

ITA. It would be a shame to lose all that money on the furniture. GL

Is it possible to look for another apartment? It would be a shame to lose on the furniture. Also, did you know that your landlord may be liable for your moving expenses. I also think by law you have a certain amount of time to find a new place. I would negotiate with the landlord.

I definately agree, before taking a loss on the furniture, look into storage places.

I agree with the above posters. You might really want to look into a storage unit for all of your things.
Even though you're not ready to buy a house yet, you may still get a new apartment in the near future. Having your own furniture already would make the next move a lot easier.
We've had a storage unit for the past 3 years, and it's been so worth the expense.
