when did you use the floppy seat instead of the infant seat at the stores

bryan is 5 months old and he is staring to be able to sit on his own but only for a short time- and with support from his arms - when can I use the floppy seat?

Aidan was around 5 months too, he sat pretty well but would get tired after a while and begin to flop, so I used an extra blanket on one side and the other I used the little pillow my floppy seat came with to prop him up a little.
