If you have apowerful vacuum that does not let dust back in the room it's the same thing. I do the beds. Using a Rainbow vacuum.

I clean all the bedding very often because I have allergies. Also, I used to have this thing that looked like a giant lint roller brush, with the sticky tape. I used that over the surface of the comforter after I've had the dog on the bed. Bed is supposed to be off limits to him but I make exceptions for good behavior and on cold nights!!!
As for the special vacuum, I dunno, I guess I would use it if I had it, but I think I do fine keeping allergans off my bed without spending a lot of money.
