Etiquette help - heavy breathers

I need some opinions....

My coworker has some issues about how to act with people. He'll fart at his desk, etc. There was a BO and dirty clothes issue, which has stopped.

But what bothers me MORE is the fact that he will come into my office, get as close to me as possible and take a huge breath and puff it out all over me and everything on my desk.

It really freaks me out, and this usually happens becuase he will come into my office and kneel next to me behind my desk, or kneel in front of the desk. There is no place for me to go to not have to breathe it in.

Am I crazy for being skeeved out by this? What can I say to get him to stop, without being rude? I dont know if he also does this to others, so if I goto HR and get them to say something, I'm sure he'd know its from me so it's probably best for me to say something directly - maybe funny but will get the point across?

ew sorry, i don't have advice but that would gross me out too!

i always tell DH "stop breathing on me!" b/c i hate feeling air on my face/body but it's all in good fun - can you joke around with him like that?

I think I'll try the funny "Why are you breathing on me" first.. then maybe if he doesn't get the hint move along to more serious conversation...
