GRRRRR senseless phone tagggg

ok so we all play phone tag with people at one point or another.

but sometimes it can SOO Be avoided so easily !!!!!!!

one mom (school related) has left me a message to get back to her, I returned her call, she returned my call.

why cant she just say what the question is, and I would return the call with the answer, and we'd be done ??????????????

and she has all our emails!!! just email me !

I have a policy at work that if they don't leave some sort of topic, not just "Give me a call", I either won't call them back, or won't get to it for several days. If you don't leave a topic, I'll assume it was not important, or a personal question, so I don't need to be in a rush to get back to you. I think it's only common courtesy to at least give a topic.....

Maybe she needs to discuss something with you that is more than just a simple question and answer. When you return her call, if she doesn't answer, leave a message telling her the times you're generally available to return calls. Ask that when she calls back, she lets you know which of those times she is available (or what the best time to reach her is), an alternate number if possible, and a little about the reason for her call. Leave your email address also (though many people prefer the phone).

Phone tag happens. I've had it go on far longer than that.
