BC Question
Not sure where to ask this...
I've been taking Ortho Tri Cyclen for years...and now that I am on a new insurance, I am getting a generic brand (tri-sprintec). Does anyone know if its bad to switch from the name brand to the generic? Will I get any negative side effects?
TIA!

Re: BC Question
It's the same thing. I switched from ortho to the generic and didn't have any side affects. Try it, if it doesn't work call the doc and have them give you something else.

Re: BC Question
I switched to the generic too. I had some side effects that I didn's have before like breast tenderness and nasea the first few days. My doctor said the generic is essentially the same however the measurements of hormones is not as exact as the name brand so side effects can occur. He advised I go back on the name brand.

Re: BC Question
I had side effects (nausea, irritability) and went back to the name brand. A higher copay is definitely worth it to me.
