My DH is FDNY EMS, he works a rotating schedule and nights. So we rarely see each other But we do it so he can watch DS during the day right now.

mine sometimes has OT on the weekends---like tonite he's working until 2 am.
i'm taking this time to hang out with my sister and relax. other times i meet up with girlfriends....or just go to a friends house...or simply hang at home.

My DH works nights and works every other weekend. Last night I went to dinner with a girlfriend and then had a couple of drinks. Today I took my niece to a movie, to dinner and then to the mall for a little shopping. I just dropped her off and will be in my recliner reading a book for the rest of the night. That's my typical weekend when he works. I spend time with family and friends. It works out perfectly because I can keep his weekends off relatively plan-free, so we can do things he likes to do.

He used to when we were first married. Basically we were together at 6pm-7pm.
My nights were on the phone with friends, grocery shopping at 11pm, etc.
Now if he gets OT or switched to nights, I'm home with the kids.

My DH is a VP for an investment bank in the city.... he works forever!!!! during the week he gets home very late , I hate it but he is a hard worker and he needs to do this for now... I just enjoy the alone time! I do whatever I need to do or have dinners with friends and when the weekend arrives I hold him captive

DH wrote a cliff notes regents review book. so he was busy over the summer, but he was at home doing it.
he is a teacher, so two summers ago he was a waiter, but he worked when I did.

DH has a 2nd job he sometimes works on Saturday nights.

dh worked in DC & Florida & would be gone for 10-14 days at a time a couple of years ago. I did crafts, scrapbooking, sometimes had friends over for dinner, played the sims...stuff like that.
I like being alone so it didn't bother me, it was much harder on him.

We both have jobs that call for both of us to work overtime. The strange thing is it always seems to be at different times. never the same time.
Which stinks.
Who ever is the person that is home, takes care of the each others jobs.
My Husband will do the laundry if i'm working and I will do the yard work if he is working.

DH can work overtime and nights during the week and the weekends. We really can't plan anything right now on the weekends for us especially since his schedule changes EVERYDAY 
It helps that I am home right now but once I am back at work, we will hardly see each other. When there is a party on the weekends, I attend with our daughter and once or twice his schedule has allowed him to come if he can for an hour or so
