Re: Would you be uncomfortable?

it wouldn't have made me uncomfortable but that's only because i never get naked at the gym. i don't even really show my bra Chat Icon and i usually have my back to everyone.

that being said i think it is highly inappropriate for kids to be in the gym locker room - especially the young boy.

Re: Would you be uncomfortable?

Yes, I wouldn't have done that. I'd have asked a staffer if they could get someone to hang in the child care room with the kids for a few minutes so I could change quick and get my stuff out of the locker.

Although it only lasted for 10 min, would this situation have made you uncomfortable?

Yes, and I am seriously not trying to pi$$ off the mom’s here.

I shower at my gym and I have actually said something to those women who bring WHAT I FEEL are older boys in there. I feel they should have to wait until I'm done or at least ask me how I feel about it since I was in there first and it's the WOMEN'S locker room. There are male desk attendants & trainers who can take the boy in the Men's rooms if it's an emergency. The gyms accommodate those with children by providing daycare, I think it would be common courtesy for mothers to respect my privacy in the locker room. Every time I have seen it, the children are just waiting for their moms, they’re not even using the bathrooms!

Exactly. If they were both really young it might not have been AS uncomfortable, but an 8 year old is way too old to be in a womans locker roomChat Icon

Re: Would you be uncomfortable?

As a mom, very inappropriate and I would be so uncomfortable. We had our locker room renovated at our gym and had to change in the little girls locker room. NO one was allowed to get naked in the common area and boys over 5 aren't even allowed in there.

Re: Would you be uncomfortable?

I am the mother of 2 boys and a girl. I see nothing wrong with bringing the girl in, but I would never bring my 9 year old in. He would have also been embarrassed. Boys don't belong there. As for my daughter, she will be changing in gym, so not a big deal.

Re: Would you be uncomfortable?

I don't see a problem with the girl, but the boys were way to old to be in there.

I would not my let DH to take my daughter into the men's locker room either.

I would have been very uncomfortable. Very inappropriate of the Mother to have brought them in to the locker room.

I'm a mother, and I have to say that I agree with everything you said. There's daycare for a reason, and I'm sorry, but the gym lockeroom is not the place for children.

I would have been uncomfortable. I also get uncomfortable when moms bring their older boys into Victorias secret. It creeps me out. Chat Icon

Re: Would you be uncomfortable?

A new mom myself, totally unappropriate for the age of the little boy to be in the women locker room. I think past 2-3 years old, it's too old.

I feel the same way, when moms bring little boys in the ladiesroom.

I definitely agree with everyone above about the lockerroom, but I think bathrooms are slightly different. If DS has to go to the bathroom, and DW has him by herself, what is she to do? He's 4.5, so he's too young to go into the men's room by himself. She can't wait until it's convenient. Plus, everyone has a stall, so there shouldn't be naked people wandering around a public bathroom.
