i walk into target and see...
BATHING SUITS and other summer clothes
it was just christmas two weeks ago right?
it just turned 2008 last week...
its not march or even february
i can kinda see valentines day stuff... sure no problem thats the next "holiday" they want to overpromote.. but bathing suits.. seriously

They actually had the bathing suits out before Christmas.
I think it's more for people who might be going on vacation over the winter.
I noticed that every year in Target as a matter of fact.

Well the bathing suits and summer clothes might be considered "resort wear". Many people go away to warmer climates during the winter.

It's resort wear for the lucky ducks that get to travel to warmer climates in the cold winter months.

I agree they seem to be rushing the holidays more and more.
But the next season that is coming out is called Cruise season and this is the time of the year when they come out and people want new swimsuits to go away with in February and March

I'm with you - so annoying!! I went there at lunch and all I wanted a mo-fo pair of cheap leather gloves - no dice!! But bikinis for everyone!!!!!!!!

ditto. i was like "OMG they still have Christmas stuff in the back of the store and they have bathing suits out!". But all the college kids are still home for vacation and i guess they're trying to get a jump on their spring break needs.

When I used to work in retail, we would get in bathing suits, shorts and tanks around this time. This was considered cruise wear time..

In retail, this is "Resortwear Season"
All stores bring them out right after Xmas, not to push the summer on us, bc so many people vacation to warm places now.

I thought so too, but I asked and the lady said they were getting rid of the "winter" stuff and making way for the spring/summer clothes Lady it's JANUARY! Almost ALL of the winter clothes are on....CLEARENCE. I can understand resort/vacation wear, but to be getting rid of winter clothes now ***

considering the winter stuff came out right after the 4th of July sales, I am not the least bit surprised.
it annoys me to no end that when there is snow on the ground, you can't find a pair of gloves if your life depended on it. same goes for summer clothes when its 90 degrees out. it's just WRONG!
