Need some help - UPDATE
I posted my results from my CD60+ blood work and my FSH and LH ratio was about 3:1. (17.7 and 5.6)
I just had blood work done on CD3 done by my GP and my LH was 4.6 and 6.5 - not characteristic of PCOS (the 3:1 ratio). Which level is accurate? I don't know what to think.
I am not going to the RE until the 16th, so until then, I'm making myself crazy!
Also, my estradial and testosterone levels were within range (according to my doctor) on CD3. What is going on? I hate not having answers!!

Re: Need some help
CD 3 is the accurate one. Here is a GREAT animated view of your cycle that explains LH and FSH and how they work. I don't think the blood drawn befor eyou got your period is applicable but ask your RE.
It has sound so turn up speakers

Re: Need some help
I agree with Melissa re: CD3 being the accurate one. If your LH is higher than your FSH, this is characteristic of PCOS. Not necessarily 3:1 but they "should" be 1:1. That said I can't really tell from your post which one was higher?
You may have "mild" PCOS. I can only compare to myself but my CD3 LH:FSH levels are 1:1, my testosterone, blood glucose, etc. are all normal. I do not have the hair growth, weight issues, insulin resistance etc. My only PCOS symptoms are lack of ovulation and the small "string of pearls" cysts on my ovaries. PCOS is like a sliding scale and you may have one, two or many different symptoms. There is not one thing that can tell you whether you have it or not unfortunately.

Thanks for the info, ladies.
When I had blood work done by my $%^ of a gyno on CD 60+ my levels were FSH 5.5 and LH 17.01. My gyno told me my hormones were "unbalanced". He didn't elaborate or provide me with any important information.
Then I had blood work done on CD 3 on Saturday by my GP because I'm still waiting to see the RE. My LH was 4.6 and my FSH 6.5 and my estradial and testosterone was "in range" during my follicular phase.
I can't understand how these numbers are so different. I was diagnosed with PCOS (I have small cysts on my ovaries and the initial blood work confirmed it).
I just wish I had more answers - I hate having to wait to go to the RE.

Re: Need some help - UPDATE
Does anyone else know why the levels would be soooo different? I am going crazy here trying to figure this all out.
Melissa - thanks so much for the link to that website -- it was very informative.

Re: Need some help - UPDATE
Your LH looks so different because at CD60 (when you were tested) you probably ovulated or were close to it and your LH was much higher at that point (which is normal).....
here is the link to the normal hormone levels (look at CD3)......

Hope this helps

YW. Yeah the levels fluctuate wildly throughout your cycle--the CD 60 BW should be disregarded IMO

Re: Need some help - UPDATE
You were probably surging when you got the blood work done on CD60. You did wind up getting your period, right? A PCOS diagnosis doesn't mean you will have all the symptoms. I hope you get some more answers at your appointment.
