PLEASE HELP!!!!
I am 26 weeks pregnant and I went for a sonogram on Thursday and I was told by the technician that everything looked fine, baby looked great etc. Today I get a phone call from my doctor saying that he sees something that may be called an amniotic band although he is not sure, so he is sending me for a more intense sono at Winthrop. He said that it could be nothing but he wants to make sure. Has anyone ever heard of this before? These doctors can make you crazy.

I dont' know anyone that had that but there are a bunch of websites on it if you do a search for amniotic band.

Yeah I am researching it now. It is enough to drive you crazy. The doctor didn't seem to concerned about it, he told me they are just doing it to take precaution. I hope everything will be fine.

I saw the websites - and some are scary. Take heart with the fact that the tech seemed to think everything is fine on the initial go around.

I had that same scare at my 20 wk sono - they'll send you for a level II and hopefully it's nothing as mine was, I did lots of research - FM me if you have any questions...
