Is this the norm (boarding related)
There is a place we recently started putting our dog when we go away. We used to board him at the vet but figured we would go to a kennel. So we get the bill it is $25 a night, which we knew of, but then there is a separate line item of $7 for them to play with the dog. I thought that something like that would be included in the $25 a night (the vet was only $15 a night). Is the kennel playing with the dog a common charge or are we being screwed?

No , I think that is the norm. We boarded our dog for the first time in Nov. and it was $26 a day. They also wanted a separate fee to play with her and groom her.

I guess I found it strange because we never asked them to play with him, not that we don't play with him I guess it is something that I feel should be included in the total price (if they want to do that it should be $32 a night and just not tell me you are charging me to play with my dog)

Yes, that is the norm. The boarding fee is just that..to board, two walks per day and then sit in cage the rest of the time. If you want your pet to participate in acitivities you will be charged.
