Did anyone go to part time?

Is there anyone else who stayed home while prego? Or did anyone drop hours at work? Husband would prefer that I do!!!!

I plan on going down to part time after the baby is born, but working fullltime to the end. Working 3 days a week.

A collegue did this when she had her son almost 3 years ago and stayed at 3 days a week until she got promoted about a year and 1/2 ago and now works 4 days a week.

I think it is a perfect balance for women who want to work and still have time with her children.

Re: Did anyone go to part time?

I have a pretty physically demanding job....Im on my feet 10-12 hours/day 5 days a week......so at 7 months I went to 4 days a week and now at 32 weeks Im officially home----we had to plan financially for this, but honestly I was happy I made it as long as I did!! Some people have given me a hard time about being out of work so early, but if any of them would spend a day with me at work, they would totally understand! If I could have sat at a desk or worked less hours I would have worked till the end, but it just wasn't possible.

Re: Did anyone go to part time?

When PG, I quit my 2nd job in the beginning. After about 30 weeks or so, I took 1 day off per week (vacation time) to make it a little easier on myself.

This is exactly what I did/do currently. It really is the perfect balance. It's great to get out and use my brain and then it's great that I'm not missing out on DD all week long! I am so lucky that my job allowed me to do this.

Re: Did anyone go to part time?

I'm hoping to work from home after the baby is born. But I plan on working my normal 55hrs a week until the very very end.

Re: Did anyone go to part time?

Since I work with Brian - he won't let me work full time... I work at max about 30-35 hours a week...
