RE question

I have PCOS and want to start TTC right away (just found out I have it). Will an RE see me NOW before even officially trying for an extended period of time considering my circumstance and the fact that I am probably not ovulating on my own? I was under the impression they would (that's why I made the appointment) but just wanted to make sure.

Re: RE question

I'm sure they will see you. Maybe they will just put you on Metforin and have you try on your own or awhile? I don't have PCOS so I don't know the protocol, but I am sure they won't turn you away. Good for you for being proactive!

Re: RE question

Yes. I was diagnosed several years ago prior to TTC. When we were ready to TTC I went directly to an RE - as long as you have an infertility diagnosis they will see you and your insurance will recognize the infertility diagnosis for coverage purposes.

If you don't mind me asking, what medicine they put you on initially?

Re: RE question

For PCOS, I was first put on Metformin alone to see if that would get me to ovulate, when that didn't work on it's own, I was put on Clomid as well

I don't have insulin resistance so we didn't try Metformin. I went straight to Clomid. I tried 100 mg and then 150 mg, neither made me ovulate. So we moved on to injectibles.
