how early...
can a baby be born and still be healthy? i know it depends on the baby but generally speaking where the baby can come home with the mother not be in ICU or anything?

I've read a baby delivered at 26 weeks has a high survival rate, but they'd have to be in the nicu for a while.
Just reread your question... that really varies. My friend had a baby at 41 weeks and she was in the nicu for 4 days but I know someone else who had a baby at 33 weeks and took him hime right away.

Well, as a NICU nurse I can tell you that 35 weeks marks the cut-off for well-baby nursery as long as all is well with baby. 34w6d will still buy you a visit to the nicu. yes, babies can survive from 23 weeks - however, it goes without saying that the earlier the delivery, the higher the risk of complication or loss. Each baby is different and we've seen so many different outcomes.
I would just try to put all of this out of your mind and do everything you're supposed to do while preggo....let nature take it's course and try to enjoy it.
