How sad... He's just not the same and he has tons of courage for doing it this year.

After watching and experiencing 1st hand just how bad a stroke can destroy a person, I give him ALL the credit in the world for his recovery and dedication to bringing us into the New Year in front of MILLIONS. GO D I C K CLARK!!

I thought he looked great compared to last year and his speech got a lot better this year too. More power to him....A lot of celebs would have curled up and hid away if it happened to them. He rocks!!!!

It wouldn't be the same without him. And honestly, year after yera, his speeh is getting better and as long as he's happy doing the job, then why shouldn't he. And Ryan Secrest isn't that bad, either IMO.

my grandfather lost his speach entirely to a terrible stroke. I think D ick clark has made major strides since last year.
Its just so sad that all the money in the world can't give him his old speech back. It just reminded me while watching, money isn't everything & be thankful for what you have.

I thought he did pretty good. Much better than last year. I have a feeling he'll be around for a while, yet.
I heard a rumor that if Clark isn't able to do the New Years show anymore that they are going to cancel New Years around the world, and just keep the same year forever.

I was so sad seeing him. It seemed so hard for him to read the words and speak quickly enough to say the seconds left. I think it's great still having him there, but maybe he'd do better in a lesser role without having the pressure of reading the seconds quickly.

I thought he did an amazing job, given all that has happened to him with his stroke. As a speech pathologist I think he has made great strides and I'm proud that he is not so ashamed of the disability that has resulted that he would not go on air.
