HSG + metformin = problems?

I went for my HSG on Friday. I stopped taking met on Wed.
The radiologist told me that I had to go for a kidney function test today or tomorrow and couldn't start taking the met again until I got the results of this test.
However, he told me I had to do this through my regular doctor, which would be my RE right?

I called the office yesterday and tried to explain this whole thing to them but they seemed to have no idea what I was talking about and said they'd call me back.
I miss the call from the NP by about 2 minutes and when I call back the office is closed.
I tried calling again this morning but no one was answering the phone. Are my kidneys going to stop working?
Is my ovulation going to be affected because I'm not taking met? I finished clomid on Friday and am supposed to go for sono/blood on wednesday.

Did anyone else who had an HSG and takes met have to get this kidney function test?
They made me sign a form and everything that i would get this done.

I didn't have to take a kidney function test, and took the met right up until the day of my HSG. The radiologist just told me to not take the met for 3 days. It didn't affect my cycle.
