soy formula?
Has anyone used it or know anything about it? My mom said she used it with my sister because when she stopped BF'ing her the regular formula was too heavy and she spit it all up. The soy is lighter and so was an easier transition.

Re: soy formula?
I use soy. I find that it is easier on the stomach.

Re: soy formula?
I don't think it's recommended to give a baby soy formula unless absolutely necessary. Soy lacks the lactose (a sugar found in cow's milk formula) that helps develop brain function. They add things to it to help make it like milk formula, but cow's milk formula is really the preferred type of formula unless the baby has an allergy to milk proteins or a lactose intolerance. Chances are what your mom experienced with your sister was one of those two things, and that's why it went away when she switched to soy. My daughter has a severe milk protein allergy and also had a soy allergy, so I did a lot of reading on this subject when she was first born.
