Is Pink Eye Painful??

Lukie, the baby has pink eye, his sister has pink eye but both just had gross discharge nothing painful but Jeremy is coming up to me crying saying his eye hurts, it's red like the others, gross discharge like the others... I put drops in it to flush it out, medicated drops in it for pink eye and cold compresses. I dont think there is anything in his eye because he is not constantly complaining. So, does Pink Eye Hurt?

I had it almost 30 years ago.... I recall feeling like I had the flu, and having very itchy eyes. I also recall the drops they gave me (keep in mind, these were 1970's drops) BURNED.... was like dropping lemon juice into my eyes.

hopefully modern drops aren't nearly as bad....

i've had pink eye twice...both time were itchy and burny

I've had it a few times - it's more irritating but can be a little painful if your eye dries out.

itching and burning...can he speak well enough to know the difference between all those things? i wouldn't call it painful, but it definitely itches and burns.
