Questions for the JHS Veterans!

OK - I'm coming into NY tomorrow and have been debating whether or not to get my hair redone at this point.
I got it done for the first time in mid-May, so I'm just at 7 months. My roots are driving me nuts, but I feel like if I do it now, I'm going to have to get it redone at the beginning of the summer. Although I cannot take the roots, my hair is pretty fine and I had some major breakage last time. My original thought was to wait a few more months - as long as I could. But I'm going nuts right now.
Is it even safe to get done at 7 months? I know some of you just get the roots redone, but do you feel like the rest of your hair is "uneven" then?

I got my roots done 2 months ago- and it's perfect!

Beth - what's the deal with just getting the roots done vs getting the whole thing redone?
How much do they charge for just the roots?

she charged me $160 for just the roots

my thinking is it's better for the rest of you hair that doesn't need it-
